Au Pair Susi
Susi am 10.05.2010 um 09:32 (UTC)
Susi is an Au Pair now since already 3 weeks. It is a very hard job. I couldn't fit into it yet because just have changed families since then. First I was in a family that were just too rich for me. The whole environment wasn't for me at all. The kids too spoiled. They got everything. The family is living in a huge house in Hunting Hill. That's a small peninsula in the north of Sydney. It is so isolated that I could only to go to the center by ferry. It was easy because it took only half an hour. But the location by itself was dead. I felt very lonely and depressed. And I just couldn't go to Sydney center every single day. It cost too much money and time. The Family is so rich that they have their own chef, boatman, nanny, gardener, German teacher, swimming teacher, few boats and a private jet. I am sure I forgot few things. There is not much love within the family. The mum is very cold and anyway she never wanted kids what she is repeating all the time. The kids are just terrible. Looking for attention all the time. The only love they would ever get is from the nanny or the Au Pair. Well....I couldn't give them any love because I never received love in this house and that is why I left. The whole environment made me so uncomfortable and sad that I couldn't stand it any longer.
Since a week now I am in a very nice little warm-hearted family. They have a boy with 3 years and a girl with 7 years. They welcomed me very heartily and I felt good. Much much better...but I am still not sure if I can do this.If the whole thing is good for me. The kids just go on my nervs and I have to have a lot of patience what I actually never had. So, another thing to work on :-)
My main job is in the mornings. I have to wake up very early to make the kids ready for school, giving them breakfast and to bring them to their parents. The parents are very active in the mornings. They do lots of sports. I just need to bring the kids to them and later tidy up a bit. That's it. Quite easy job but not enough money. So, I am looking for a second job right now which I can do beside my Au Pair job. Will look for waiting jobs....

No Jobs... :-(

No updates so far. We are here for 3 weeks now and didn't find work yet. It is so hard finding anything. I don't know what they bloody want. We have all what they asked for. Maybe...just too many people around? Or just the handicap to be a backpacker? I don't know! Our all day life is not very exciting right now. There is no beautiful life possible without money. So, we are walking around, breathing the nice air, window shopping, talking, taking pictures of the city, enjoying the sun....things you can do for free...

Botanic Gardens
Susi am 01.04.2010 um 13:45 (UTC)
Today we went to the Botanic Garden in Sydney and experienced something totally amazing. First we saw a thousands of bats hanging on trees making very strange noises like screams. Some were flying around but there were just too fast to catch them on the photograph. Then we continued walking and realised other noises coming from the air. Noises of parrots. Not just one or two. No, we saw so many of them. We went to the grassland to see more of them walking on it and to get closer. We tried to touch them. Then we saw a family surrounded by them and started to go there. We got closer and closer and it was very easy to touch them. The family also gave us some sunflower seeds. From that moment the parrots were all over us. On our heads, our shoulders, our arms and hands. We took lots of pictures. It was amazing. A wonderful feeling and just nature pure. In our countries they are hold in small cages where they can't really move and here they are flying around and enjoy to be free...

Arrival in Sydney
Susi am 27.03.2010 um 04:59 (UTC)
After 20 hours sitting in a stinky bus we are finally in the biggest city of Australia. Actually, Sydney was our last destination here in Australia but our plans have changed. And that is great!!!! We are very happy to be here. We will live here for a couple of months. On the first day we were looking for apartments and we found our place. We have a nice room for the two of us but we are living with 5 other persons in the apartment (1 Corean girl,2 Brazilien guys, 1 Indian guy, and 1 French guy. But it doesen't bother us because they are all very nice and the place is very clean. The landlord is very strict with the hygiene and all are taking care of that.
Yesterday we moved in and the others asked straight away for going out in the evening. Of course we went out :-) We had a good night...

Our first flop
Susi am 24.03.2010 um 05:06 (UTC)
We started working today and realized this job was not made for us. We didn't feel well from the beginning but we tried anyway. The payment was on commission and when we saw there are no sellings at all and how hard it is to get the people for intention we decided to go. Yesss...maybe be should have tried a bit harder and stay for more days to see how it goes but our instinct says something different. Besides every wrong decision cost us money and we can't afford it. We said bye, went to the house, grabbed all our things and left the house. We decided to go to Sydney and bought 2 tickets for tonight. Our coach leaves at 8.30pm. And we will arrive in Sydney at 1 pm next day. So...another long trip to make but it was cheap. We are doing it with a good feeling. As soon we arrive in Sydney we will look for jobs straight away and we will live there for good....
